Plain-English summary of how BarberGear handles your data under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Last updated 21 May 2026.
BarberGear Ltd is the data controller. Registered office: Unit 12, Feeder Road Trade Park, St Philips, Bristol BS2 0SB. ICO registration on request.
To take an order, ship it, invoice it, handle returns, and look you up if you ring with a problem. To vet trade accounts before extending credit. To send the restock-alerts newsletter if you signed up. That's the list.
Order records: seven years from the order date. That's HMRC's requirement for VAT-registered businesses, not ours.
Newsletter list: until you unsubscribe (every email has the link).
Trade account history: as long as the account is active, plus seven years after closure for tax records.
Server logs (IP addresses, pages visited): 90 days, then deleted.
Three parties, each handles a specific bit:
That's everyone. We don't sell data. We don't share it with marketing networks. We don't pass it to social platforms for retargeting.
Two cookies, both functional. One remembers your bag between visits. One remembers if you closed the newsletter popup. No third-party analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no ad-tech.
Under UK GDPR you can:
Most requests are answered within five working days. We don't charge for the first request in any 12-month period.
Anything about your data: [email protected], subject line "Privacy". Or post to the registered office, marked for the attention of the Data Lead.
We'll update this page when something changes. If the change affects how we use existing data (new processor, new purpose), we'll email everyone with an account at least 14 days before it takes effect.
